South Park: S10E8 – Make Love, Not Warcraft.

This episode of South Park is based on the game World of Warcraft. I know this episode has been out for years and World of Warcraft isn’t as popular as it used to be but here is my review. In a small town in Colorado called South Park; four young boys: Cartman, Kyle, Stan and Kenny all join forces to kill this unbeatable player in World of Warcraft.

The boys encounter a stronger player in the World of Warcract, this player does not go by the rules, if anything this player makes the rules. This hardcore high level player goes around killing innocent players including: Stan, Kyle, Cartman and Kenny. The boys come into contact with this player numerous amounts of times and they don’t make out alive. Cartman convinces other friends from his school to team up to take down this player, but in the end they all fail.

We eventually find out who the player’s actual identity is, Al Gore. Al Gore is a former Vice President gone insanely stupid; Al Gore believes that ‘Manbearpig’ is actually real. Half man, half bear and half pig, in season ten episode six he gets the boys trapped in a cave looking for Manbearpig. In this episode season ten episode eight, Al Gore spends all his free time playing World of Warcraft. Eventually reaching a level everyone thought unreachable and goes around killing innocent players for his own amusement.

Again defeated by the invincible Al Gore, the boys spend approximately: seven weeks, five days, thirteen hours and twenty minutes giving themselves, three hours a night to sleep. They spend all that time in the forest killing boars, approximately sixty-five million, three hundred and forty one thousand boars. The boars are worth two experience points a piece and they do this just to level up to defeat this player.

In the end of the episode, once the boys are fully trained and are  high levels, they encounter Al Gore’s player again and challenge him. The battle lasts for several hours but Blizzard the company who creates World of Warcraft realizes that the boys will die. Blizzard have this secret sword that can drain any players ‘Mana’ and then the boys can easily kill Al Gore’s player. Blizzard track down the boys with the help of Stan’s father Randy which he then delivers the sword personally to Stan. The boys finally defeat Al Gore’s super yet not so invincible player in the end using the powerful sword.

This is personally one of my favourite South Park episodes, even though I don’t play World of Warcraft, it’s still funny to watch. For all you non South Park fans, I hope this post has encouraged you all to watch this episode. For those who have seen this episode, please share your thoughts about this brilliant show.
